Student Surveys

The Freshman Survey (annual, administered during Freshman Orientation): a wide-ranging survey of students’ backgrounds, aspirations, habits, opinions, and interests. Administered by the 皇冠足球比分_澳门皇冠体育-在线|平台@er Education Research Institute (HERI) at UCLA. Click here for more information.

Your First College Year Survey (2015-2018; administered in the spring): a HERI survey that tracks student experiences during their first year in college. Many of the questions from The Freshman Survey are repeated to look at changes over time. Click here for more information. 

College Senior Survey (annual, administered in the spring): a survey that measures a variety of outcomes of the college experience and students’ impressions of their time in college. Also administered by HERI and repeats many questions from The Freshman Survey and the Your First College Year Survey, permitting observation of change over time. Click here for more information.

National Survey of Student Engagement (now every three years, administered in the spring): an extensive survey of freshmen and seniors that measures experiences with various types of engagement indicators and high-impact teaching practices. Administered by the NSSE Institute at Indiana University. Click here for more information.

Healthy Minds Survey (administered every other year in the fall): a survey administered by the University of Michigan that examines student mental health, utilization of mental health services, and several other topics. Click here for more information.

National Study of Learning, Voting, and Engagement: a study conducted by The Instititute for Democracy and 皇冠足球比分_澳门皇冠体育-在线|平台@er Education (IDHE) at Tufts University. Student enrollment data from the National Student Clearinghouse is matched with public voter files for both the presidential and midterm elections. The voting files on public record contain information on whether the person registered to vote and whether they ended up voting. It does not indicate how the person voted. Also, after the enrollment information is matched to the voting information, the records are completely deidentified before being sent to the IDHE. Click here for more information about this study. 

National Assessment of Collegiate 皇冠足球比分_澳门皇冠体育-在线|平台@ Climates (administered every three years): a survey that Wabash participates in as part of its membership in the Liberal Arts College Racial Equity Leadership Alliance (LACRELA). The survey is administered by the University of Southern California Race and Equity Center. Questions on the survey fall in one of six categories: appraisals of institutional committment to racial diversity, impacts of external environments, racial learning and literacy, encounters with racial stress, mattering and affirmation, and cross-racial engagement. Data reports from student surveys

Every time Wabash participates in one of these surveys, the College receives several reports summarizing our students’ data and comparing their responses to students at peer institutions. Selected reports from recent administrations of these surveys are below. The College also receives the raw survey data, with which we may conduct additional analyses. If you have an interest in exploring the raw data to answer a question for your project, or if you would like consultation on interpreting the institutional reports, please contact the Office of Institutional Research.
